Instructions for Scheduled Cesarean Section Blood Work, Education & Assessment
An appointment with the RN at Merit Health Woman's Hospital must be made on Monday - Friday, within 3 days of your scheduled C-section.
If the date of your C-section changes, you will need to reschedule your testing appointment within 3 days of the new date.
The testing appointment will take between 45 minutes and 1 1/2 hours.
Please bring a list of your current medications, list of past surgery types and dates, and your insurance information.

All blood work done this date is non-fasting, meaning you may eat and drink prior to your arrival for testing within 3 days of surgery.
However, you must have nothing to eat or drink after midnight the night prior to your scheduled surgery day.
If we are unable to accommodate your request for a preadmission testing appointment, an attempt will be made to provide education and obtain an assessment via phone prior to your arrival. Please allow additional time to accomplish the intake process and procedures by arriving 2-3 hours prior to the scheduled time of your procedure.
