Merit Health Woman’s Hospital Names Employee & Managers of the Year for 2020

Merit Health Woman’s Hospital recently honored the 2020 Employee of the Year, Clinical Manager of the Year, and Non-Clinical Manager of the Year.
The 2020 Employee of the Year is Jessica Ragan, RN. Jessica serves as the Informatics Nurse, Clinical Systems Analyst, and Patient Experience Champion.
“Jessica is flexible and willing to cover when and wherever she is needed,” says Heather Sistrunk, Chief Executive Officer of Merit Health Woman’s Hospital.
“She is extremely IT tech savvy and collaborates daily with local IT staff to target issues and assist with resolution,” continues Sistrunk. “Jessica has established excellent relationships with nursing staff and medical staff and routinely goes to physician offices to assist them with troubleshooting IT issues as needed. Jessica is a team player and excellent at all she does.”
The 2020 Clinical Manager of the Year is Jennifer Dew, RN. Jennifer serves as Nurse Manager for the Newborn Division and Respiratory Care.
“Jennifer strives for excellence no matter what is asked of her,” Sistrunk explains. “She is well respected by her peers, her staff and the medical staff for all that she does. Jennifer has assumed the director position of an ancillary clinical department, Respiratory Therapy, in addition to her other departments. She has done an incredible job.”
The 2020 Non-Clinical Manager of the Year is Kesa Slater, RHIT. Kesa serves as the Director of Health Information Management & is the Facility Privacy Officer.
Sistrunk says, “Kesa is an extremely knowledgeable HIM professional. She consistently goes the extra mile for physicians and all of her co-workers in the hospital. She communicates extremely well with the medical staff about their medical records and takes all steps necessary to improve our processes. Kesa is a quiet, calm and strong leader who does not settle for less than the very best our hospital can be.”
