Merit Health Announces Rankin County Hospital Administrators

Merit Health has named two outstanding leaders to key leadership roles at Merit Health Rankin and Merit Health Woman’s Hospital.

At Merit Health Rankin, Joey Ferguson, B.S., RT(R)(MR), has been named hospital administrator. Joey's journey with Merit Health began in 2002. He holds a Bachelor of Science in health sciences from The University of Mississippi Medical Center. Joey has excelled in various pivotal roles, starting as the radiology director at Merit Health Central in 2016. His outstanding contributions were further recognized in 2019 when he also took on the responsibilities of cath lab director. In 2022, Joey took on the additional role as the radiology director at Merit Health Rankin, where he showcased his versatility and leadership skills across different hospital departments. Soon thereafter, he assumed responsibilities as the cath lab director at Merit Health River Oaks along with his existing duties.

At Merit Health Woman’s Hospital, Crystal Scott, B.S., RT(R)(CT), has been named hospital administrator. Crystal brings a wealth of experience and a strong educational background, with a Bachelor of Radiologic Sciences from the University of Mississippi Medical Center. Since beginning her healthcare career in 2007, Crystal has demonstrated her dedication to patient care and accessibility. She joined Merit Health River Oaks as the Director of Imaging and quickly made an impact. In that role, she was integral in the development of the first and only $99 Heart Screening in Rankin County, which demonstrates her commitment to advancing healthcare accessibility and patient care in our area. She also played a pivotal role in establishing the new Interventional radiology department at Merit Health River Oaks. She was soon promoted to executive director of imaging for the Merit Health Jackson Market, where she led imaging services across multiple Merit Health Hospitals to expand its capabilities and better serve the community.
